Throughout June, July, and August, there will be a variety of live music including 7th Heaven, Hi Infidelity, Kashmir, Spazmatics, Arra, Libido, Funk Circus, 16 Candles, American English, Modern Day Romeos, Infinity and Breakfast Club. On June 6, July 3, and August 8, a spectacular fireworks show will directly follow the accompanying music act. Admission is free, parking is free with validation and outside coolers cannot be brought into the park.

Chicago Marathon

Andersonville Midsommarfest

Born out of Andersonville’s Swedish heritage, Andersonville Midsommarfest retains its quaint, international flavor. Old-world Swedish traditions, including a festive dance around the Maypole, are incorporated into an unrivaled array of entertainment for families and adults. A special family area includes face painting, games and a family stage with entertainment such as Nordic Folk dancers, a pet parade, and much more. The other three stages are filled all day with spirited music, including nationally renowned acts, guaranteed to get the crowd dancing.

Spanning across three stages, with dance music parties happening inside a 3,000 capacity hockey rink on the grounds and a lazy river bordering the festival, Summer Set Music & Camping Festival is setting a new standard for festivals in the Midwest!


Taste Of Latin America

Unlike other big-city food festivals, Taste of Latin America is food-centric and stays completely true to its purpose- to celebrate and showcase the very best that Chicago's finest Latin American restaurants and chefs have to offer. The goal is to give attendees a true and varied Latin American culinary and cultural experience.

More than 25 of Chicago's top Latin American restaurants will set up their kitchens in the events' Restaurant Row- offering attendees plates of what can truly be described as 'the finest Latin American food in the 42nd parallel.

Many types of Latin American cuisine will be represented including Argentina, Columbia, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, and more.


The Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic

On July 6, 2013, the Chosen Few DJs will hold the 23rd Annual Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic.
What started as a small "reunion" picnic of about 40 friends from the early days of house music has now grown into one of the largest house music festival events in the world! Often referred to as the "Woodstock of House Music" and the "Lovefest," each July tens of thousands of "house heads" of all ages and races from around the world gather in Chicago's Jackson Park on the south side of Chicagowhere it all beganto peacefully pay tribute to and celebrate house music and house music culture. The Picnic features the legendary Chosen Few DJs as well as their guest artists and DJs. In recent years, Picnic performers have included Frankie Knuckles, Jamie Principle, Ten City, Kem, Terisa Griffin and Rochelle Fleming, lead singer of the group First Choice

Craft Beer Festival

The Chicago Craft Beer Festival returns for a second year June 21-23 at St. Michael in Old Town parish. Chicago loves its craft beers and there were over 75 different beers to taste at last year’s inaugural event.

Family Sports Festival

 

The annual Family Sports Festival provides a free day of fun and fitness for Chicago children and adults alike. This community event provides people with an opportunity to experience a wide range of different sports through interactive stations featuring more than 25 sports and activities. Event attendees also have a chance to meet local Olympians, Paralympians and Chicago’s professional sport teams and participate in games, win prizes and get autographs throughout the day. The health and wellness corner will feature free health screenings and an area where people can enjoy cooking demos while learning easy ways to eat better in their daily lives. World Sport Chicago is also proud to partner with Catholic Charities on the kick-off of their 2013 Summer Food Program – providing all participants 18 and younger with a FREE, nutritious, lunch!

With activities, entertainment, music, and more, the Family Sports Festival is a celebration of sports, health and wellness.

Made in Chicago: World Class Jazz

The celebrated Made in Chicago: World Class Jazz series returns to Millennium Park. The music series is programmed in partnership with Jazz Institute of Chicago and with the support of the Chicago Community Trust.
This summer’s season of Made in Chicago: World Class Jazz will be dedicated to the late Helen Doria, the first Executive Director at Millennium Park, who conceived and launched the series in the summer of 2005.

North Coast Music Fest

August 30th - September 1st
Welcome to the return of Chicago's favorite summer festival, the fourth annual North Coast Music Festival, descending upon Union Park this Labor Day Weekend as "Summer's Last Stand". Chicago's independent producers and worthwhile charities welcome the world's electronic, house, jamband, indie, and hip-hop communities to Union Park for a lineup that continues to grow.


Petrillo Music Shell

James C. Petrillo Music Shell or simply Petrillo Music Shell or Petrillo Bandshell as it is more commonly known, is an outdoor amphitheater/bandstand in Grant Park in the Loop.


ROCKIN’ IN THE PARK

The Village of Rosemont announces the return of their free summer concert series, ‘Rockin’ in The Park.’ Expanding upon last year’s series, the 2013 festival will be a summer-long concert series, beginning on Thursday, June 6 and continuing through Thursday, August 15. The festival, sponsored by WXRT, will feature eleven live bands, fireworks and food and beverage tents on the great lawn in the center of new MB Financial Park at Rosemont, ILL.


Taste of Randolph 2013

Taste of Randolph converges some of the Windy City’s Best in Food, Music and Festival Fun for One Rockin’ Weekend to Benefit the West Loop Community Organization. Attracting crowds in excess of 100,000 and always a favorite amongst Chicagoans, The Taste of Randolph is located in one of the city’s fastest growing part of town 'restaurant row' or the Randolph Street Corridor.

Three Oaks Theater Festival


Chicago, IL—Co-founders John Stoops, Tim Evans, and Marc Grapey proudly announce the inaugural season of Three Oaks Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that will bring three limited-engagement runs of highly-acclaimed, professional Chicago-based productions and a World Premiere to audiences in Harbor Country, Michigan. Three Oaks Theater Festival is presented in association with Harbor Arts with special thanks to The Pokagon Fund.

For its first season, Three Oaks Theater Festival will present one-night-only engagements of Blair Thomas & Co.’s The Selfish Giant, a unique take on the Oscar Wilde classic featuring puppetry by Blair Thomas and music by Michael Smith; Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co’s acclaimed production of the Tennessee Williams classic The Glass Menagerie, directed by Hans Fleischmann (who also stars as Tom), and featuring Walter Briggs, Maggie Cain and Joanne Dubach, with an original score by Daniel Knox; TurnAround Theatre’s production of Brian Friel’s Faith Healer, directed by J.R. Sullivan and featuring Brad Armacost, Lia D. Mortensen and Si Osborne; and Complicated, a world premiere musical from Poi Dog Pondering.
 


Windy City RibFest

Finger lickin' slabs from some of the best local and national ribbers will be in the spotlight at this popular summer food/street fest that's celebrating its fifth year in 2013. Even better? A rockin' 3-day music stage lineup featuring some of the hottest local and national rock/pop and classic indie acts as well as local tribute bands!

This "saucy" happening also features arts & crafts, a daytime play area for kids, plus beer and wine. Plus Windy City RibFest in Uptown takes place just steps away from three of Chicago's hippest music venues: the Riviera Theatre, the Green Mill, and the iconic Aragon Ballroom.

57th Street Art Fair

More than 250 artists showcase glass, jewelry, leather, photography, printmaking, painting, sculpture, wood, ceramics and fiber at the 63rd Annual Event, billed as the oldest juried art fair in the Midwest. The event is alcohol free.

Accenture Chicago Triathlon

Friday, August 23, 2013 - Sunday, August 25, 2013
Annual Triathlon is the largest event of its kind attracting 800 young triathletes. The race is open to boys and girls ages 7-14, includes individual and relay team divisions, and is limited to 800 kids.
For kids 7-10 years: 100 meter Swim, 4k Bike & 1k Run.
For kids 11-14 years
: 200 meter Swim, 8k Bike & 2k Run.
The swim takes place in Lake Michigan in shallow water, parallel to the beach. The bike and run take place on closed park roadways and running paths. It is a great opportunity for kids to break into the sport.
