Africa International House USA

The African Festival of the arts celebrates 20 years of Africa and Africans throughout the Diaspora and especially in Chicago. Washington Park, located a stone’s throw from President Obama’s Hyde Park neighborhood, will be transformed into an African village filled with artists and artisans, music, dance, drumming, the exotic aroma of African cuisine and more than 250,000 festival-goers seeking to experience the continent and culture of Africa.

AIDS Run - Walk Chicago

Registration is now open for AIDS Run & Walk Chicago, the popular annual fundraising event in the fight against HIV/AIDS. It benefits both the AIDS Foundation of Chicago and the programs of more than 125 local HIV/AIDS service organizations. Teams are strongly encouraged. Participants can register for either a 10K run, 5K run or 5K walk and also raise additional money through pledges


Allerton Music Festival

In 2007, Allerton Park was named one of the top seven wonders of Illinois for its beautifully unique retreat facilities, spectacular formal gardens, a mansion modeled after the 17th century Ham House in Surrey, and its miles of nature paths studded with Robert Allerton's collected art. Take a self-guided tour between festival events.
Allerton Park's Festival experience is unique in its pairing of the culinary and the acoustic. The perfect concert requires the prelude of a perfectly tuned meal. That said, all festival tickets include a dinner (or brunch) with the following concert in mind and specially prepared by Chef Rhonda Killian-Sinkosky (of K-Spear Culinary Arts and Montgomery's fame). Meals will be served on the premises adjacent to the Music Barn.

Bloomington Gold is the longest running continuous national Corvette show and it has set the standards by which other Corvette events are measured.

Bucktown Arts Fest

The 24th Annual celebration of the arts features paintings, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry and photography from artists from across the country, plus theater, dance and spoken word performances, films and live music. Includes a food court and beer vendors.

Chicago Blues Festival

The Chicago Blues Festival is the largest free blues festival in the world and remains the largest of Chicago's Music Festivals. During three days on five stages, more than 500,000 blues fans prove that Chicago is the "Blues Capital of the World."

Chicago Cultural Center - Grant Park Music Festival

The Grammy nominated Grant Park Orchestra and the award winning Grant Park Chorus led by Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar and Chorus Director Christopher Bell  will celebrate its 74th Annual Season with a wide ranging series of Classical Music Concerts and Special Events at the state of the art Frank Gehry designed Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park, and in other select city locations.

The concerts, which are free and open to the public, will generally take place on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6:30 pm, and Saturday evenings at 7:30 pm.

Chicago Reggae Festival

Beneficiary: Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago
This one-day event will include performances by the very best of local, regional, and international Reggae artists, and of course, djs and lots of Caribbean-style food. The festival will benefit the Muntu Dance Theatre of Chicago, a group that performs traditional African and Caribbean dance, and runs after-school programs for children, classes for the public, and training for emerging young artists.
