General Info

A cheery trompe l'oeil mural greets diners, filling the open stairway leading down into the restaurant. Texture everywhere lends to the classic Italian setting, with creamy stucco-like walls and well-worn wooden furnishings. Intimate, with subtle arches that divide the large dining room, Trattoria No 10 evokes a feeling of warmth and quiet.

Entrées include melt-in-your-mouth homemade ravioli (including asparagus with sun dried tomato sauce, or butternut and acorn squash with walnut butter sauce), four-grain risotto, and osso bucco. The bar offers a full, nicely chosen (and pleasantly affordable) selection of all Italian wines to complement Trattoria's menu, which is divided Italian style; antipasti followed by pasta, followed by meat and fish entrees. The food is filling and comforting, served in large portions. Expect to leave stuffed and satisfied - Trattoria chefs wouldn't be happy otherwise.

Be sure to check out the bar popular with the downtown crowd because of the early-evening buffet from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Stocked with shrimp, carved beef tenderloin, pasta and more, it's only $12.00 (with a $6.00 drink minimum). Get there early, this fills up fast.

The restaurant seats 185, and while there is no children's menu per se, families are welcomed. Weekends can be especially busy, and even a bit boisterous - but seldom disruptive. Servers are familiar, knowledgeable, and helpful but rarely intrusive. For private parties, two rooms that accommodate up to 26 people each are available.

The Perfect Choice For: Theatergoers, special family outings, shoppers, couples, friend get-togethers, romantic first dates, feel-better-after-a-lousy-week comfort dinners
