Chicago Outdoor Film Festival

The 2009 Chicago Outdoor Film Festival

General Info

The City of Chicago presents the 8th Annual Chicago Outdoor Film Festival. View seven weeks of classic films every Tuesday evening beginning July 15 through August 24, presented the Chicago Film Office, a division of the Mayor's Office of Special Events and the Chicago Park District.
Now considered a Chicago tradition, this one-of-a-kind outdoor theater experience includes a gigantic screen (50' x 34') and a state-of-the art sound system. Movies begin at sunset (see show times below) in Butler Field, Grant Park at Lake Shore Drive and Monroe.
Admission is free, thanks to the generosity of sponsors. Film critics Roger Ebert and Richard Roeper, hosts of Ebert and Roeper at the Movies, will open the festival. They will share comments, anecdotes, ideas and criticisms. Ebert and Roeper take center stage at 8:15 p.m.
For Your Convenience Cyclists can beat the traffic by biking! The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation and the Mayor's Office of Special Events provides FREE Bike Valet Parking at all films. The valet is located on the northwest corner of Lake Shore Drive and Monroe Streets.
Sorry, no dogs are allowed at the Chicago Outdoor Film Festival because crowds are stressful to animals, even the most peaceful pup can become aggressive under these conditions. Love your pets by leaving them at home!
