Indie Cafe Thai & Sushi

This cozy cafe serves both Thai and Japanese dishes, with ample sushi and maki choices. Most of the small dining room has views of the sushi bar. The dishes here are not what you would expect from a neighborhood spot, but even simple dishes like chicken satay arrive looking pretty as a picture. There are several Thai noodle, rice and curry dishes, including the signature mussamun curry with lemongrass, coriander, garlic, onion, peanuts and potatoes. Maki rolls include the standards, plus signature choices like the "santana," with tuna and scallion tempura, masago, cilantro, jalapeno, cucumber, spicy sauce, lotus and lime.

Kamehachi of Tokyo - Wells

One of Chicago's oldest Japanese restaurant and sushi bar. Serene and distinctive setting featuring a wide variety of sushi and kitchen dishes. Beautiful bamboo-birch panels, bamboo waterfalls, and private shoji dining rooms.


Katsu

The chefs here magically whip out some of the best sushi in Chicago, just ask any sushi foodie. The Katsu recommendations are all top notch (the deep fried fresh Flounder Kara-age and the rare Katsu filet mignon are winners) and the assorted sashimi dinner starting at &32.00 is more food than one sushi lover can handle.

Mirai Sushi

Located in the South Loop, Opera is what food critics call "a progressive Chinese restaurant."
