General Info

Kingston Mines, with three storefronts and a kitchen, has been around for 35 years and offers two stages with blues bands playing constantly. It's got a funky atmosphere where you sit at picnic tables, chow-down on ribs, burgers, catfish or chicken and listen to the loudest blues you’ll hear in Chicago.

Pellegrino hires mainly local bands to perform. But on weekends some of the biggest names in Chicago blues drop by to relax, enjoy a few beers and sit in for a set or two. It's pretty easy to catch guys like Billy Branch and Sax Man A.C. Reed performing on one of the stages. Get ready for the best in blues including Byther Smith, Big James, Magic Slim, Dion Payton and Mr. Mean. Make some noise with Charlie Love and the Silky Smooth Blues Band. And if you're attending college, come Sunday through Wednesday and get in free with your ID. On those days performers include: John Primer and the Real Deal Blues Band, Lindsey Alexander, Chico Banks, Joanna Connor, Jimmy Burns, Andre Taylor and The Blues, and Alley Cats.

Get a great bite to eat before enjoying even greater performances. Catfish is between $7.00 and $10.00 and made to perfection. A Blues Burger is less than $7.00 and the beer is always pouring. Kingston Mines is the pinnacle folks. Enjoy the world's best and baddest blues being played in the Granddaddy of all Chicago blues clubs.
