General Info

At 1,450 feet (1,730 including antennas) the Sears Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the world. You can get to 1,353 feet by taking a trip to the Skydeck. The extra large elevators will quickly have your ears popping in this 35 year-old skyscraper. When you get to the top, grab onto one of the binocular sets and scan the never-ending horizon. You can see over 50 miles to Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana on a bright day. Or you can keep your eyes focused on the mass of buildings below and around you.

Over a million and a half people come here each year to take in the shimmering city lights, the sweeping urban vistas, and the infinite rows of Chicago highways and streets. Interactive displays and exhibits on the Skydeck level will keep everyone interested. And if it fits into your schedule, try visiting in the late afternoon. You will stand in awe at the breathtaking of a sunset.

And if you are hungry, just take the elevator to Mrs. Levy's delicatessen and order a ham sandwich. The Sears Tower actually has several nice places to eat right in the building.

Best Bet: Enjoy the view at non-peak hours. The best time to visit is after 4:00 pm
