General Info
Athena, the goddess of wisdom, must have shared some of that wisdom with this restaurant. They will do the occasional “Opaa!” to flaming Saganaki, but at Athena, the real focus is on the dining. Athena offers large portions and enough choices to please everyone: beef, lamb, seafood and vegetarian dishes. There is a full bar and a nice selection of Greek wines. The mural on the wall, scenes from Greek villages, is a really nice touch.
In the warm weather, the patio is filled with locals and tourists talking, eating and drinking until late into the night. If you can get a table at the patio, the wait is well worth it.
The cold plates include an eggplant dip (melitzana) and marinated octopus. They also offers large portions of Greek standards such as kabobs, pastitso (macaroni with ground beef, cheese and bechamel sauce) and jumbo shrimp in tomato sauce, topped with feta cheese.
The Perfect Place For:
Enjoying Greek food as a couple or in a group.
