Childrens Museums

Brunk Children’s Museum of Immigration is an interactive, hands–on museum for children of all ages. The Museum has a Swedish focus; however, the story of Swedish immigration parallels that of many other groups who left the old world behind and forged new lives in America.
Brunk Children’s Museum of Immigration, located in the Swedish American Museum Center, offers children the chance to experience immigration firsthand. They will engage in a myriad of historical tasks in a century–old Swedish farmhouse, or stuga, replicated in authentic detail. Here they can milk a cow,  or set a table for dinner.

This is a small but interesting museum along the Riverfront in Rockford. One must see Jane, the young T-Rex, as well as other Natural History exhibits.

Fair Oaks Farms is a real place, a family owned, heartland dairy located in Northwest Indiana just outside of Chicago. In fact, they are one of the largest dairies in the country. In recognition for its outstanding exhibits and impact on Chicago land families, Kohl Children’s Museum was recently named one of the country’s Ten Best Children’s Museums by Parents Magazine. The Museum was ranked sixth out of more than 300 children’s museums nationwide and was the only Chicago area museum recognized.

The Orpheum Children's Science Museum is a children's science museum located in an old Orpheum Theater in Downtown Champaign. The Museum covers all of the entrance to the theater, and some adjoining space outside. There are plans to turn the stage and theater part into exhibits soon. The Orpheum has many exhibits, ranging from a simple machines castle to a musical instrument made of pvc tubing.
