Copernicus Center

It was founded by Poles in Chicago in 1971 in order to raise funds towards raising a monument for the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus to be set in front of the Adler Planetarium. After the monument's dedication at the 500th anniversary of Copernicus in 1973, the Polish-American community decided to use leftover funds towards the purchase of a cultural and civic center for Chicago's Polonia.

WIRE

Music venue, music and lighting school, and music recording studio located just outside of the Chicago city limits in Berwyn, Illinois, WIRE is housed in a renovated, vintage movie theater at 6815 West Roosevelt Road. WIRE is an incubator for music instruction, creation and performance with state-of-the-art audio and video utilizing both current and vintage backline instruments, amplification, and microphones. Alpine Valley Music Theatre

This is a 50,000 capacity amphitheatre in East Troy, Wisconsin. The seasonal venue was built in 1977, and it features a characteristic wooden roof covering the 9,500-seat pavilion, and a sprawling lawn. The theatre is located roughly equidistant between Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago, so draws a wide regional audience. Alpine Valley is generally considered the Milwaukee stop on major tours, and the Chicago stop when the act doesn't perform in Illinois. Until 1993, when the San Manuel Amphitheater was built in California, it was the largest amphitheater in the United States.

Arie Crown Theater

Genesee Theatre

After sitting vacant for twelve years, the Genesee Theatre began its $23 million renovation in July of 2001 as part of the City of Waukegan's downtown renovation project. With the help of over 120 volunteers, the Genesee was brought back to its original splendor. Every care was taken in the restoration to ensure the integrity of this great venue. All wall fabrics in the facility are exact replicas of the original wallpaper and coloring in the facility has been recreated as exactly as possible based on existing paint chippings. Many of the original plaster moldings, wooden railings and light fixtures have been kept intact. The marquee, installed on September 2, 2004, is an exact replica of the one which graced the Genesee in 1927.

This is a 12,000-seat multi-purpose arena located in the Quad Cities. It is currently home to the Quad City Flames Ice Hockey Team and the Quad City Steamwheelers Football Team.
The arena has hosted NCAA Division 1 college basketball games (including the Mid-Continent Conference men's basketball tournament from 1996-99) in addition to several NHL and NBA exhibition contests.

Riviera Theatre

The Riviera Theater, along with the Vic and the Metro, is part of what many refer to as the holy trinity of Chicago's concert venues. The capacity of the Riviera tops out around 2,500 music lovers, making it larger than the Metro but smaller than the Aragon Ballroom, allowing the Riviera to maintain an air of intimacy.

Sears Centre

The Centre is an 11,000-seat multi-purpose family entertainment, cultural and sports center in Hoffman Estates, a suburb of Chicago. Sears Centre will host more than 135 events each year, attracting more than 750,000 visitors annually.

 


Soldier Field

The field serves as a memorial to American soldiers who died in wars, hence its name. It was designed in 1919 and completed in the 1920s. It officially opened on October 9, 1924 (the 53rd anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire), as Municipal Grant Park Stadium, changing its name to Soldier Field on November 11, 1925. Its design is modelled on the Greco-Roman architectural tradition, with doric columns rising above the stands. However, after being rebuilt, the modern stands now dwarf the columns. The new stadium seats 61,500 people.


Star Plaza Theatre

Star Plaza Theatre is a 3400 seat intimate theatre with two seating levels in a semi-circle around the stage. The main floor level seats 2,000 people and the mezzanine, which overhangs the main level about midway, seats 1,400. The furthest seat in the auditorium is only 120 feet from the stage.
