General Info

It is still frequented by journalists and the walls are covered with photographs of Chicago politics and history.

William Sianis, original owner of Billy Goat Tavern, took his goat to the 1945 Chicago Cubs World Series Game. But his goat was not allowed entry. Legend has it that Sianis put a curse on the Cubs so that they would never win another championship. Need we say more?

Billy Goat offers standard fare: breakfast and burgers. It also has a full bar. If you're in the mood for a burger, for a couple of dollars more than a fast food joint, you can have atmosphere, beer and a full helping of Chicago history.

The Perfect Choice For: Before or after a sports event, hanging out and having a burger and a beer
