The first Dick's Last Resort opened 20 years ago in a Dallas warehouse, complete with a laid-back," all in fun and fun for all" approach. For their Chicago restaurant, they've transplanted their good-old Southern food and Texas-sized attitudes to a choice location along the Chicago River. During the summer months, you can even enjoy Dick's famous ribs, chicken, and shrimp dishes on the floating "Dick's Dock." The service at Dick's could best be described as sassy, brassy or downright surly. Taunt 'em right back -- it's part of the fun. You may end up wearing a 2ft tall paper hat complete with a humorous slogan, or engaged in a vicious napkin fight with a nearby table. Dance on the tables to the live classic rock (with no cover charge).
Dick's Last Resort boasts a spontaneous, rambunctious environment where revealing your hidden wild streak is most highly encouraged. But beware: the craziness is contagious, as proven by the dozens of autographed articles of clothing adorning the bar rafters.
