Fogo de Chao

Fogo de Chao

This is a Brazilian steakhouse designed to capture the feel of the Gaucho lifestyle. Churrasco, the Gaucho way of roasting meats over pits of open fire, is the restaurant’s traditional style for preparing cuts that are not simply delicious but sensational. The blue tower at the entrance to the restaurant houses a fogo de chao where you can view this time-honored Brazilian tradition for preparing steaks. The Gaucho culture is emphasized on tastefully lit walls with huge murals and there is a sense of great openness to the restaurant space.

General Info

This is one of the few places in Chicago that serves an all-you-can-eat meal for $48.50. Your Chef will keep serving whatever it is you want. Their most popular meat is the Rump Roast Picanha. And don’t stop there. Try the leg of lamb, lamb chops, pork loin or filet mignon. The Alcatra Sirloin is among the tastiest and is "prepared Gaucho style," which means cooked over open fire.

Everything comes with a never-ending supply of cheese bread, seasoned mashed potatoes, hot polenta, and fried bananas. The desserts include a papaya cream smoothy, three different kinds of cheesecake: New York style, strawberry cheesecake, and turtle cheesecake with caramel and nuts and chocolate truffle cake.

The Best Place to Go For: A unique atmosphere and sensational steak
