General Info

Local residents near this venue account for about 50% of the total business. That’s a good sign for a place that feels more like a neighborhood location rather than one downtown.

The Saloon Steakhouse prides itself on serving Chicago’s largest selection of Prime Wagyu Beef. This type of cattle comes from Japan’s Kobe region and is well known for a high quality flavor. Try it out with a very big Cowboy Cut Rib Eye for $38.95. The New York Boneless Strip Loin is dry aged for 21 days and tastes delightful, for $49.95. For a few dollars extra, top off any of your favorite cuts with peppercorn, horseradish, blue cheese, blackening spice, caramelized onions or sautéed lobster. If you would rather try seafood you won’t have anything anywhere else like the Horseradish Crusted Salmon. At $18.95 it’s prepared with a unique bloody mary sauce.

The Saloon also specializes in martinis. The house favorite is the French 785. For $12.00 you get a vodka based drink complete with the addition of bubbly champagne. The wine list is not lacking in great deals either. For a great sparkling white wine, try the Toad Hollow Amplexus, Limoux, France NV. It is available for $8.00 a glass or $32.00 for a bottle. For a $9.00 glass or $36.00 bottle of red wine, try Dry Creek Vineyard Heritage Clone Zinfandel from Sonoma County, California, 2000.

The Best Place to Go For: Great prime steaks and the martini of a lifetime
