Shanghai Terrace

Shanghai Terrace serves excellent French-influenced Asian fare that is both artful and accessible. Dotted with shrimp, the spicy papaya salad is so refreshing you almost don't notice the heat sneaking up on your taste buds. Tuna sashimi drapes over not the standard rice but shredded daikon fragrant with truffle vinaigrette. Five-spice duck is simple - stir-fried vegetables and meat - but the meat is wonderfully crispy, tender and flavorful. Wok-fried lobster is a knockout. The dish is composed of meaty lobster chunks, still in the shell, served with Asian greens, yellow chives and a scintillating chili sauce. And don't skip dessert. One favorite stacks creamy coconut sorbet atop a sesame cookie tuile, all on a base of sake-marinated tropical fruit.
